Important Information for Term 2, 2020

Ten things that may be helpful to know:

2. If you don’t have a device at home, your child may be able to join our device loan scheme.
3. If you would like to better understand our Learn @ Home program, we have created a document that explains it.
4. If you are not sure where to start with Connect or Education Perfect, we have created some self-help videos to get you started.
5. If you would like to know more about Connect, you can download the Step-by-Step Connect guide for parents.
6. If you would like to install your free Office 365 student edition (for up to 5 devices), you can read this guide to get started.
7. Connect will be used to post all student work, so please check it regularly.
8. Education Perfect is currently being trialed by some classes and it will be fully operational at the start of Term 2.
9. Learn@home subject work packs will be available in Week 1 for students who do not have digital access.
10. We encourage you to download the CONNECT NOW app (iPhone and Android versions available).

Device Loan Program
A limited number of older laptops for loan are being prepared at the moment. Preparing the devices is a big job. In week 10 we will distribute laptops to our year 12 students first. The next roll out will occur either during the school holidays or when Term 2 begins. We will contact parents with the offer if successful.
The loan scheme will require a $20 deposit and run until normal classes resume when the devices must be returned unless arrangement is made to extend the loan period. Each family invited into the program will receive 1 device only. Pick-up will be from the Admin Desk with payment of the deposit and contract signed. The devices are not insured by the College and loss with reasonable care such as accidental damage or theft will not incur replacement cost to parents but may result in the device not being replaced.
We ask that parents understand that there are students and families really needing this support right now and not to register unless there is very genuine need.
We are working on including support for internet access for loan scheme laptops with news about that early in Term 2.
