School Board Nominations 2020

Friends and neighbours in the Cecil Andrews community, it’s that time of year again where we have to call for volunteers for the coming year’s School Board. We’re doing things a little differently this year in that we’re going to constitute the Board at the close of 2019, ready to commence at the start of the 2020 College Calendar. The School Board is comprised of members of the faculty, representatives of the broader geographic community and members elected from the Parents of Students at the College. There are four places available for parents and guardians and we would love it if you were part of the journey. The Board meets five times in the year, generally on late Tuesday afternoons, and is responsible for setting and overseeing the strategic direction of the College. There are no particular skills required, other than a love for the College and a desire to see it flourish. Training will be offered early next year for successful candidates, most of which can be done in the comfort of your own home. The nomination period closes on the 28th October 2019 and, should there be more nominations than places on offer, an election will be held shortly thereafter. If you are interested in participating in this important part of the College’s governance, please forward your name, address, contact details (email and phone) and a brief biography of no more than 200 words to: deborah.foster2@education.wa.edu.au. I have chaired the Board for the last four years and will be handing over the reins to another for next year. It has been my pleasure to serve the community in this endeavour and, should you have any questions about serving on the Board, you are more than welcome to contact me on 0432 382 863. Kind regards Colin Campbell JP College Board Chair.
